Gill approached Propeller to develop a new online presence with a tiered approach to launching a brand new website followed by a consumer shop and international translations. The CMS platform needed to be easy to use and simple to roll out across many user levels and languages. It was crucial that the new site conveyed the technical nature of the development of each of their products and focused on the apparel specifically suited to the sailing aficionados based on activity. It was clear that those crazy Ocean racers may not be interested in the Dinghy fleeces...
Propeller developed an interactive and scalable site which allows for a great level of customisation by geographic area. The Content Management System developed bespokely by Gill allows all areas of the site to be updated quickly and easily, this has been an asset to the international roll-out program. However beyond functionality, the new site has given Gill the opportunity to present a rich experience of the brand online. They have been able to provide true representation of the quality and care that represents the Gill brand and develop a rich conversation with their customer base.
The launch of the online shop has also allowed Gill to speak and sell direct to their loyal customers for the very first time. This relationship will continue to develop through a targeted email marketing campaign which will allow us to segment the database further in order to provide lovers of Gill with the most targeted information for their sailing gear needs.
