Corus Hotels represent the best of corporate and leisure breaks, with fabulous properties from central London to the Lake District.

What they Wanted

Corus Hotels’ previous website was too corporate and limited its ability to attract customers from the leisure market. Conscious that it was missing a large swathe of the market and not exploiting the full potential of the internet to generate bookings, Corus wanted to take a completely fresh look at their online strategy. They also needed a more flexible website that would be able to keep up with the evolving face of their business, as well as accommodating last minute promotions or events.

What Propeller Delivered

Propeller delivered a stylish online platform that incorporated subtle hints of Corus’ brand identity within a sophisticated colour-scheme, with luxurious graphics, in order to maximise the reach of the brand. Mindful of Corus Hotels' brief to expand their customer base, Propeller devised an advanced SEO programme to ensure that Corus was easily accessible to its target market. The elegant new design was supported by a flexible, bespoke CMS that Propeller developed for Corus, to enable it to ensure that its website was always remaining relevant to their users and generating bookings. Propeller further drove this capability through integrated IP technology, which ensured the website adapted according to the user’s location to display relevant information.

Result

By subtly incorporating Corus’ existing branding into a new, stylish presentation, the new website denotes a more elegant online presence, whilst not alienating Corus’ core market. The website was an immediate, overwhelming success. From a few thousand visits a month, visitor traffic increased tenfold, and bookings through the website have increased by a fantastic 80%.
